# How To Create & Manage Segments
**How To Create a Segment**
1. Go to **Segments**.
2. Click **New+**.
3. Name your segment.
4. Define filter conditions (e.g., Email contains ".com").
5. Click **Save & Close**.
**How To Edit a Segment**
***Update the name, description, or filter logic of an existing segment.***
1. **Go to Segments.**
2. **Click on the name of the segment you want to edit.**
3. **Update the segment name, description, or modify the filter rules in the builder.**
4. **Click Save & Close to save your changes.**
**How To Delete a Segment**
*Permanently remove a segment from your Mautic system.*
1. Go to **Segments** from the main menu.
2. Locate the segment you want to delete.
3. Click the **checkbox** next to its name.
4. Click the **Delete** icon from the top action bar.
5. Confirm the deletion in the popup dialog.
Note: Deleting a segment does not delete the contacts in it—only the grouping logic is removed.
